"The People Absorbing Colour painting came to me in a dream where I saw a crowd of tiny people milling around in front of a huge, dark, red, brick wall.

I felt the idea was too far off the wall as a piece of art for most people so I opted for a Cumbrian mountain landscape, which has the same drama attached to it and it is one of my favourite places in the world.

The three, primary coloured people, have absorbed the colour from the landscape thus draining it of colour to leave us with the muted colours you now see"

This highly textured painting is in the stylistic tradition of colour-field painting with the added humanity of three, hardly noticeable, tiny people in the lower third of the picture.
