I'm Neil McBride, a British painter based in North Yorkshire. For over 20 years I've worked full-time as an artist — exhibiting in commercial galleries and juried shows across Yorkshire, including a solo show at Inspired By gallery in Danby and regular appearances at the Great North Art Show in Ripon Cathedral. Before painting, I spent years in advertising and graphic design, picking up a Clio nomination along the way — an eye for story and composition that still shapes every crowd scene I paint today.

Every painting on this site is an original, made in my studio — never outsourced. I work instinctively, letting each piece evolve as I paint, often discovering the narrative and movement as it develops.

Many of my paintings centre on crowds — gatherings, shared moments, the quiet stories that pass between people. Others are rooted in the landscapes of Yorkshire and the wider British countryside. A great evocative memory on canvas. Around about 2007 I opened a boutique in Minster gate in York. I was pleasantly surprised when Neil popped in to show me an acrylic painting he'd done of our new shop front. I absolutely loved it - it captured colour and vivacity with a very interested lady shopper passing by. Of course I purchased it and still love it nearly 20 years on.
