Some of the best days start with “meet you in the field”.
A field of zingy lime green, warm with sunshine, and ten small figures heading across it to find each other. In Green Field Meeting, two of them have already linked hands, and the rest are on their way.
Seen from above, every figure is built up in thick, textured paint: candy pinks, coral red, sky blue and lilac, bright against the green. Darker greens gather at the edges like hedgerows, scattered with pale seed-head dots, and a couple of strokes of metallic gold catch the light as you pass.
At just 8cm square, it is a small, cheerful reminder of summer gatherings and good company, made to brighten a shelf, a desk or a windowsill.
